Breast Disease
Our physicians have extensive experience in the treatment of benign and malignant breast disease. We utilize the most modern and up-to-date techniques for biopsies and excision of breast lesions. By working in conjunction with other specialists, we provide a comprehensive approach to breast care involving integrating mammography and other diagnostic imaging, breast biopsies, treatment strategies and cancer risk assessment.
When needed, our surgeons utilize the most modern treatment strategies by individualizing the approach for each patient as dictated by the type, size and location of the tumor. Cosmetic appearance, function and reconstruction options are always considered when helping the patient choose the proper surgical option. We have experience in breast-saving resection(lumpectomy), complete breast removal(mastectomy), sentinel lymph node biopsy, Mammosite placement and multiple non invasive biopsy techniques.
After surgery, we thoroughly discuss the pathology report and its significance with the patient and family. We then work in conjunction with specialists in chemotherapy and radiation to provide a multi-specialty approach.
